Across hospitals and clinics\, AI is no longer confined to clinical settings—people are increasingly turning to chatbots and health apps to interpret symptoms\, seek reassurance\, and even self-diagnose before consulting a professional. Join our panel of experts for a thought-provoking discussion on healthcare’s next transformation\, and what responsible\, ethical and environmentally conscious digital innovation should look like in the age of AI.Panellist informationAssociate Professor Sebastiano Barbieri - Principal Research Fellow\, Queensland Digital Health Centre (QDHeC)\, and Adjunct Associate Professor\, UNSWProfessor Barbieri's research sits at the intersection of machine learning and healthcare\, focusing on developing practical\, data-driven solutions to improve patient outcomes and clinical workflows. Professor Nicholas Carah - School of Communication and Arts and Director of the Centre for Digital Cultures and SocietiesProfessor Carah's research explores the algorithmic and participatory advertising models of digital media platforms\, with a particular focus on digital alcohol marketing. Dr Rebekah Eden- Senior Researcher\, UQ Business School and Queensland Digital Health Centre (QDHeC)Dr Eden's work focuses on understanding and improving digital health transformation through mixed-methods research\, digital health maturity and impact assessments\, and the development of data governance structures that support effective and appropriate system use. Professor Clair Sullivan - Clinical informatician and endocrinologist\, Director of the Queensland Digital Health Centre (QDHeC)Professor Sullivan's work focuses on driving digital health transformation\, translating research into practice\, and shaping policy in Australia and internationally. Peter Button - Ambassador and Blue Voices member for Beyond Blue\, retired senior local government executivePeter contributes in both voluntary and advisory capacities across a wide range of health\, research\, and international aid initiatives\, including projects in Vietnam\, Indonesia\, and Papua New Guinea.
