Services Australia disaster payment of up to $1,000 per adult who had major damage to their homes

Queensland Government have a range of grants for emergency items and services, replacement of essential household items, repair of homes and transport assistance.

Local government Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) assistance.

Telstra disaster relief provides support to get you connected.

Below is a list of no-go and restricted access areas that require further assessment before reopening and an estimated time for reopening of these areas.

St Lucia

  • Glass House
  • UQ St Lucia Ferry Terminal
  • Boat Shed (June)
  • Connell building level 1 (August)
  • Ski Club Pontoon (October)
  • Steele Hut space bank and toilet block (June)
  • Pedestrian lift to UQ Lakes busway out of service

Herston

  • Health Science (level 2) (end of May)

Gatton

  • Timber boardwalk on the outer ring road at the campus entrance (early June)

Student support information

Our Student Services team is providing support and advice, arranging temporary accommodation, delivering food and essential items and loan equipment.

At St Lucia visit Student Central (building 42) and Central Library.

UQU hardship assistance is available to students who need financial support during this time.
