A gateway to a new campus experience
The development of a Student Hub in the heart of UQ’s campus will provide a game-changing student experience. A 28,000m2 purpose built complex that will include world-class teaching and learning space and the right environment to deliver contemporary integrated services and support for students.
A welcoming place that will support and connect the 49,000 staff, students and visitors that come to the St Lucia campus each day.
This adaptable and accessible precinct will reinvent the student experience and exceed present and future expectations – whether in four years or 50.

1560 new teaching and learning seats

1400 new informal learning seats

1800m2 UQ Union

First-stop services for students
Events, socialising, activities
The Student Hub will create spaces where students can meet people and make friends, and access everything they need to live on St Lucia campus – a home away from home. Students will be able to attend classes, study, collaborate, relax and engage in a wide range of activities.

Have your say
The Queensland Heritage Council decision not to list the Student Complex on the heritage register will allow the University to make the necessary investments in infrastructure on campus now and in the future, essential if UQ is to remain a top 50 global teaching and research university.
This project is on hold in response to COVID-19.
