Strategy Jam sessions

The UQ Strategy Jam is an opportunity for staff to inform the development of our next Strategic Plan for 2022 to 2025. The jams will tap into the collective insights, ideas and inspiration of our staff. The Strategy Jam is entirely online. The sessions are outlined below. Staff perspectives

  Monday 14 June
  9.30am - 10.30am
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) Rongyu Li, KPMG Chair in Organisational Trust (Business School) Professor Nicole Gillespie and UQ’s Chief Marketing and Communication Officer Kelly Robinson explore the community’s changing attitudes and expectations of public institutions and the role our staff want UQ to play in enriching our communities.

Partner perspectives

  Monday 14 June
  11.00am - 12.00am
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) Rongyu Li and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Advancement) Jennifer Karlson explore what can and should UQ be doing to enrich our communities, including ideas to enhance partnership with a diverse range of communities - focusing on alumni, industry, donor, and Indigenous engagement.

Global strategy

  Tuesday 15 June
  10.0am - 11.00am
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) Rongyu Li and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) Dr Jessica Gallagher will lead a discussion on current global challenges and opportunities, including approaches to international student recruitment and partnerships.

Workforce sustainability

  Tuesday 15 June
  2.30pm - 3.30pm
Chief Human Resources Officer Dr Al Jury leads a panel discussion to examine the capabilities, structure, culture, reward mechanisms and support we will need to put in place to ensure our staff community has the resilience and engagement to progress our strategic goals.

What is the purpose of the Strategy Jam
What’s the purpose?

The Strategy Jam is the primary channel for staff engagement, as UQ consults widely on the creation of our 2022–2025 Strategic Plan.

It’s your chance to contribute your views on UQ’s future direction – and the future design of our education, research and community programs.

When will the Strategy Jam begin
When will it begin?

The Vice-Chancellor and Provost will launch the Strategy Jam on Tuesday 18 May with a live, interactive session, followed by four weeks of discussion and debate – via the online Strategy Jam website

Who will be presenting
Who will be presenting?

Over the four weeks of the Strategy Jam, you’ll be able to watch presentations by – and ask questions of – UQ’s most senior leaders.

The presenters will include:
