Background
Dr Minjun Kim specalizes in the design and synthesis of functional nanoporous materials with novel nanoarchitectures.
Dr Kim's research focuses on the design and synthesis of functional nanoporous materials with novel nanoarchitectures, and their potential towards energy storage and conversion applications. Consdiering himself as a researcher seeking both fundamental and practical aspects of materials science, Dr Kim has specifically investigated how the physical properties of materials are translated into the electrochemical properties based on the concept of 'Nanoarchitectonics'.
Dr Minjun Kim received his bachelor degree from the University of Queensland in 2015. After that, he joined the National Defence Research Institute (NDRI) located in Seoul, South Korea as a research assistant (2015-2017). He completed his PhD at the University of Queensland in 2023 and he is a current postdoctoral research fellow at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering & Nanotechnology (AIBN). He has successfully designed and synthesized various novel porous carbon materials, and specifically investigated the effect of unique nanoarchitectures on the electrochemical properties for energy storage and conversion applications. To date, Dr Minjun Kim has published >50 research articles in international peer-reviewed journals and recieved >3,000 citations (h-index of 27).
