Professor Danny Liew

Areas of responsibility

The Executive Dean is responsible for shaping the Faculty's strategic direction, academic programs and research initiatives while ensuring the success and wellbeing of both students and staff.

Biography

Professor Danny Liew is the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences. He has over 25 years of experience in senior roles at Group of Eight universities and tertiary hospitals, most recently serving as Dean of Medicine and Head of the Adelaide Medical School.

Danny has led initiatives that strengthened interdisciplinary collaboration, developed sustainable research strategies, and delivered world-class training for healthcare professionals.

An expert in clinical epidemiology, health services research and health economics, Danny is committed to advancing consumer-focused, efficient and equitable health care, leveraging technology to enhance outcomes. His career has spanned academia, healthcare and government, with a strong focus on building strategic partnerships both locally and internationally.

Associate Dean (Indigenous Engagement)

Associate Professor Geoff Argus

Director, Rural Health

The Director of Rural Health leads strategic innovation in regional, rural and remote health across education, research and community engagement. This role builds and deepens partnerships with government, communities and industry to address rural health workforce needs and create a pipeline of graduates from, trained in, and working for regional, rural and remote Queensland.
