About Gatton
UQ’s regional campus, Gatton, is the centre for agricultural, environmental and animal science education and research.
Located in the Lockyer Valley, west of Brisbane, it supports the Faculty of Science and the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation.
The 1,000-hectare working farm includes dairy, cropping and grazing units, as well as post‑harvest facilities, greenhouses and specialist veterinary teaching spaces. Partnerships with industry support, hands-on learning and innovation across food production, sustainability and animal health.
Set against a backdrop of historic homesteads, Gatton offers student residences, sporting amenities and a community fruit and vegetable garden, creating a unique blend of learning, connection and rural life.
