The Evaluation Of A Parenting Intervention To Prevent Adverse Developmental Outcomes For Children Following Family Breakdown (2006-2008)
Abstract
This project will evaluate the efficacy of an intervention that aims to decrease family risk factors and enhance family protective factors, to optimise outcomes for children following divorce. It is expected that parent training will significantly improve parental functioning and child behaviour, and reduce the use of litigation, compared to a control group. This evaluation is significant in that it will be one of the few studies worldwide that has used rigorous methodologies to evaluate the impact of a divorce intervention on child outcomes.
