MND Postdoctotral Fellowship - To identify novel genetic loci and pathways associated with ALS through interrogation of multiple integrated genomics data sets (2016)

Abstract

To date, the most important and fundamental insights into the underlying mechanisms of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) have come from studies of the known mutations. However, in over 85% of cases, the causative mutation of ALS is not known and there is no effective treatment. Progress to date has been made using standard discovery techniques but alternative approaches are critically needed.
