Living positive in Queensland: A qualitative longitudinal study of aging, place and social isolation (2012-2016)

Abstract

This research aims to capture the experiences of people living with HIV (PLHIV) in QLD. It will identify complexities for PLHIV in relation to ageing, social isolation and access to services in regional and rural areas. This is significant as it will capture a hard to access socially isolated PLHIV population using innovative qualitative methods, address emerging trends in the PLHIV population, and explore key issues for an effective response to the future of PLHIV services. Outcomes include evaluating the delivery of HIV prevention and PLHIV services, increasing knowledge in QLD PLHIV issues, and increased visibility of HIV in QLD.
