Many of these opportunities will intersect with UQ’s core business in research, innovation, teaching and learning, student experience, partnership building, community engagement, alumni and advancement, and highlighting enduring contributions of First Peoples.
UQ Games Engagement is UQ’s central hub for advancing research, innovation and lasting impact through the Olympic and Paralympic Games and other major global sporting events.

UQGE works closely with the UQ's Queensland Centre for Olympic and Paralympic Studies and Research Partnerships Office in the development and delivery of initiatives aligned with UQ’s The Queensland Commitment and the Queensland Government’s 2032 Legacy Strategy, Elevate 2042.

UQ Games Engagement Oversight Committee
UQ’s involvement in these activities are further guided by an oversight committee chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Deborah Terry AC.
Comprising internal and external representatives to UQ, the Committee maintains oversight of the strategic direction of the University in participating in opportunities created by the ‘green and gold runway’.
The Committee is also charged with ensuring UQ’s participation in the opportunities created by Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games remains grounded in safeguarding a positive and ongoing legacy for UQ, our communities and partners.
