International Biomaterials Research Alliance (2007-2011)

Abstract

The International Biomaterials Research Alliance (IBRA) aims to become a world-leader in the development of biomaterials for medical applications. The programs described here will provide a path to market for a number of key technologies developed in Queensland laboratories, with the participation of a group of world-leading scientists. The IBRA uniquely brings together fundamental chemical scientists and clinical researchers in Queensland hospitals. The IBRA will provide a 'benchtop-to-bedside' path for biomaterials developed in Queensland in collaboration with our international partners. Four key application areas are being targetted: Dental bone repair; vascular regeneration; vision; medical imaging agents.
