Gibbsite-oxalate scale formation and reduction in alumina processing (2008-2011)

Abstract

The objective of the project is to provide critical knowledge that will help to reduce the rate of scale formation in post interstage precipitators in the Bayer process. Against this objective the project will be considered successful if the resulting knowledge is applied to reduce post interstage scaling rate, either through the optimisation of the existing process, or as an enabler for the successful application of other scale reduction technologies.
