Multi-Site Trials of Third Party Policing: Building the Scientific Capacity for Experimental Criminology and Evidence-Based Social Policy in Australia (2010-2015)

Abstract

Third Party Policing (TPP) is a new and influential approach to policing, developed by Mazerolle and her colleagues within the traditions of experimental criminology. Mazerolle's fellowship will further scientific knowledge of both the theory of TPP and the application of experimental field methods to criminological inquiry by conducting, for the first time in the world, a series of structured multi-site, multi-country trials of a TPP crime control program. Her fellowship will advance the theory of TPP, help reduce crime problems, build institutional capacity for social science experiments, and influence developments in evidence-based social policy making in Australia.
