Evaluating the effectiveness of fire safety programs in emergency services management (2012-2015)

The capacity of Emergency Services Agencies, such as Fire, Police, and Ambulance, to systemically evaluate the effectiveness of their safety programs is limited. This can be enhanced through the integration of information describing the geographic patterning of emergency calls along with data describing the goals and objectives of safety programs. This project focuses on fire safety programs and employs advanced geographical and statistical methods that collectively enable them to be measured, modelled and monitored. This new framework enhances the evaluation capacity such that areas or communities at a greater risk can be better informed and proactively targeted in future safety programs, reducing costs, mitigating risk and saving lives.
