Performance level structural testing facility (2013-2014)

Abstract

The consortium of five universities and single major government department participating in this proposal would like to establish a Performance Level Structural Testing Facility (PLSTF). With the requested LIEF equipment as its key resource, the PLSTF will be a national centre for infrastructure research and testing. It will be unique in providing the flexibility of varying combined mechanical and thermal (fire) loading in a controlled manner at a scale consistent with global structural behaviour. It will also provide essential support for established and emerging research in infrastructure, civil, mechanical and mining engineering.
