Cross-Entropy Methods in Complex Biological Systems (2005-2007)

Abstract

The Cross-Entropy Method is one of the most significant developments in the field of randomised optimisation in recent years. Because the Cross-Entropy method is still relatively new many aspects are yet to be explored. We propose to further enhance the theory and significantly develop the application scope of the Cross-Entropy method by focusing on applications in Computational Biology where many problems can be formulated as optimisation problems over complicated search spaces
