Changing the vaccination paradigm: A single-dose cattle-tick vaccine for Queensland's extensive beef cattle enterprises using biopolymer platform (2012-2014)

Abstract

About half of Australia¿s beef production occurs in northern Australia. Many producers are only able to muster cattle once a year. Vaccinations typically require a booster injection several weeks after the initial treatment to be effective, so the control of disease in these herds is problematic. In more intensive northern production systems, more frequent mustering is possible, but represents a significant cost. This project will accelerate the adoption of a single injection vaccine delivery system.
