Overview
Background
I am a microeconomic theorist working in market and mechanism design, information economics, security design, auction theory, and search theory. My research studies how risk attitudes and information frictions shape strategic behaviour and market outcomes in environments with uncertainty and asymmetric information. I combine economic theory with laboratory experiments and, when appropriate, empirical and structural methods to study problems related to security-bid auctions, procurement and scoring auctions, college assignment mechanisms, dynamic pricing, search markets, and information acquisition. Much of my work focuses on how different institutions and financial instruments affect incentives, efficiency, revenue extraction, and information aggregation in markets such as natural resource auctions, mergers and acquisitions, venture finance, and digital platforms.
