Overview

Background

My research interests are in the field of Chemistry education, particularly how students learn in the chemistry laboratory.

I teach biological inorganic chemistry at a second and Masters level, as well as a broad range of topics in first year chemistry. I also teach the ethics of chemistry in second year.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor (Honours) of Law, The University of Queensland
  • Bachelor (Honours) of Science (Advanced), The University of Queensland
  • Doctor of Philosophy, The University of Queensland
  • Member, Royal Australian Chemical Institute, Royal Australian Chemical Institute

Research interests

  • Chemistry education

I am interested in the ways that students learn to communicate Chemistry and how the barriers to effective learning in Chemistry can be reduced. I have a particular interest in learning in the laboratory setting.
