UQ Foundations of Research Involvement for Health Consumers
UQ invites lived experience health consumers who are interested in research to an introductory training course on consumer and community involvement in research. Co-Designed by Jess Taylor (lived experience health advocate - QENDO) and Jo Maxwell (UQ) this course is for consumers involved or thinking of becoming involved in health research projects.
What's involved
- Hear about different types of research, how research is funded, data and evidence-based decision making
- Learn about the role of ethics in research, including confidentiality and privacy
- Discover "plain language" tools for consumer document reviews, and how to support and plan for consumer meetings, as well as how to provide meaningful feedback and be an effective team member
- Participants will complete two sessions (on concurrent Thursdays) and receive a UQ certificate of completion
