Research impacts
Sebastian’s research has influenced policy development and advanced social research methodologies, impacting both local and national levels. His work with state and federal governments across three different Australian states and territories has provided evidence for shaping policies in the demographic and well-being sectors. Additionally, his involvement in cross-national comparative research projects provided valuable insights that contributed to national policy development in the higher education space.
He has also played a role in advancing survey research methodologies, providing solutions that are applicable to academic institutions, government departments and agencies, as well as commercial social research. These methodological advancements have enabled more robust measurement of social phenomena and have the potential to support the development of evidence-based policies at both national and state levels.
