Electromagnetic imaging for medical applications
There are a number of projects in the field of electromagnetic medical imaging such as brain injury detection, fatty liver diagnosis, and lung cancer detection using microwave sensors. The projects can include developing techniques for electromagnetic signal calibration, clutter removal, frequency / coherence bandwidth selection and electromagnetic image resolution evaluation.

Automatic Measurement of Human Tissue Thicknesses with Ultrasound
An accurate assessment of body composition is required to enable the diagnosis of different diseases with electromagnetic imaging techinques. Ultrasound has been used effectively to assess human soft tissues for nearly 5 decades. Therefore, the purpose of this project is to use this technology to measure the thicknesses of human torso tissues, such as skin, fat, and muscles as a priori information to electromagnetic imaging algorithms.
