Research impacts
The primary research driver is to improve the quality of healthcare, and life in general, for older people, through the use of new technologies and systems of care. In recent years, this interest has broadened to vulnerable populations at all ages.
Over the course of his career, his research has influenced the design and operation of hospital, community and institutional aged care in Australia. He has contributed to the evolution of telehealth in Queensland and Australia. He has been a major contributor to the development of assessment systems internationally through the interRAI research collaborative, particularly with the hospital sector.
