Innovative Approaches in Periodontal Regeneration and Implantology
My research focuses on advancing periodontal regeneration through biomaterials, scaffold design, and cell-biomaterial interactions, aiming to improve soft and hard tissue engineering in oral health. I specialise in the evaluation of biomarkers for periodontal disease classification, innovative treatment modalities for peri-implantitis, and the development of 3D periodontal scaffolds. With extensive clinical and academic experience, my work contributes to the optimisation of dental implant designs and regenerative approaches for enhanced patient outcomes.
Research impacts
Since publishing my first study in 2021, my research—now with 158 citations, an h-index of 6, and an i10-index of 5—has contributed significantly to advancements in periodontics and regenerative dental medicine, with publications in high-impact journals like Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews (impact factor 15.2, 2023). As a reviewer for the Journal of Periodontology and Oral Diseases, I am engaged in shaping high-quality research across the field. Focused on enhancing personalised periodontal care, I use biomarker analysis in gingival fluid to improve disease classification and tailor treatments, leading to better patient outcomes and healthcare efficiency. My work in regenerative medicine, particularly in developing 3D scaffolds and refining biomaterial-cell interactions, supports healthier, longer-lasting dental implants. Additionally, my research on innovative treatments for peri-implantitis aims to extend implant longevity and reduce secondary surgeries. These contributions drive improvements in healthcare practices and patient care, delivering tangible benefits beyond academic research.
