Dr Yoon Kwon Choi is a psychiatry registrar in Brisbane and an associate lecturer at The University of Queensland. Dr Choi has worked in various health services including Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, Children's Health Queensland, and Mater Hospital. He has particular interest in Child and Youth Mental Health and Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, and passionate in advocating for our neurodiverse population as well as culturally and linguistically diverse people. He was awarded the Beverely Raphael New Investigator Research Grant in 2024 by The Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP).
Outside of clinical work and academia, he sits on multiple leadership and advocacy roles including President of Queensland Psychiatry Trainee Association (QPTA), Queensland's jurisdictional representative for RANZCP Bi-National Committee for Trainees (BCT), bi-national trainee representative of RANZCP Emergency Department Steering Group (EDSG) and RANZCP Section of Psychiatry of Intellectual and Developmental Disability (SPIDD).
