Dr Brett Heyward has a background in tertiary education and senior public sector leadership. Previously served as Director-General of the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Queensland Public Service Commissioner, and CEO in the health sector. Over the past decade, Brett’s focus has been on advancing tertiary education, with a particular focus on executive education and targeted research activities in public policy.

Research impacts
Dr Heyward has a number of research projects in progress, largely focused on post-mining land-use. These projects are funded by CRC TiME and Industry partners.
In addition, given his background in leading public policy initiatives, Dr Heyward is a Chief Investigator at the ARC-Industry funded Behavioural Insights for Technology Adoption (a partnership wtih UWA, QUT and UQ).
