Overview

Background

I am a mathematician working in optimisation, with a focus on splitting methods for infinite dimensional optimisation problems. I recieved my PhD in 2025 from the University of South Australia (UniSA) under the supervision of Regina Burachik (UniSA), Yalçın Kaya (UniSA) and Walaa Moursi (U. Waterloo) for my thesis titled Douglas–Rachford Algorithm for Optimal Control. Following my PhD, I began a research contract at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) under the supervision of Vaithilingam Jeyakumar (UNSW) and Guoyin Li (UNSW) where I studied primal-dual splitting methods for robust optimisation problems. As of June 2026, I have joined the University of Queensland on a research project supervised by Fred Roosta (UQ) and Lindon Roberts (U. Melbourne) investigating next generation Newton-type methods using the minimum residual solver.
