Overview

Background

Dr Dion Choy specializes in biomaterials, drug delivery systems and nanomedicines.

She received her PhD from the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, the University of Queensland (AIBN, UQ) in 2026. Her PhD research focused on developing LNP delivery systems using alternative polymers and targeting strategies for mRNA therapeutics, spanning materials synthesis and bioconjugation, in vitro profiling of nanoparticles, through to preclinical imaging trials.

Currently, Dion is a postdoctoral research fellow at the School of Chemistry and Molecular Bioscience, the University of Queensland. She is investigating different bioconjugation methods for protein engineering.
