A new class of inhibitors for the treatment of tuberculosis (NHMRC Project Grant administered by The University of Sydney) (2015-2017)

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide. This project will identify and characteristise new compounds with potential to treat drug resistant TB, with the ultimate goal of reducing treatment times and eliminating bacteria from those latently infected with M. tuberculosis. Achievement of this goal will have an enormous impact on world health and save many lives
