Versatile Physical Property Measurement System for South-East Queensland (ARC LIEF administered by Queensland University of Technology) (2023-2024)

Abstract

Advanced materials including functional nanomaterials, superconductors, thermoelectrics and spintronics exhibit rich behavior at micro/nano scale that make them attractive for future applications ranging from energy generation to transportation and health. This proposal aims to establish a versatile integrated Physical Property Measurement System (PPMS) to measure electron/phonon transport properties of advanced materials at super-low-temperature and under high magnetic field and/or pressure. High measurement precision and functional automation will not only significantly enhance research capability in functional, molecular and structural materials in South-East QLD, but will replace lower quality instrumentation at the end of asset life.
