RuZr alloy encapsulated in Zirconium Oxynitrides for highly efficient hydrogen oxidation catalysis (2025)
Abstract
Alkaline membrane fuel cell (AEMFC), also known as anion exchange membrane fuel cell, has made significant progress in related research in recent years. However, under alkaline conditions, even with Pt-based catalysts, the kinetics of the hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) at anode are far lower than in acidic conditions, seriously hindering the widespread application of AEMFCs. Therefore, seeking more active and more economical anode catalysts is crucial for the commercial development of AEMFCs. This work focuses on HOR at the anode of an AEMFC and prepares a new RuZr nanoparticle catalyst with reduced catalyst cost and improving activity.
