Reliable AI-Driven Decision Making for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles in Marine Life Surveys (Australia's Economic Accelerator Ignite Grant administered by Griffith University) (2025-2026)

Abstract

This project aims to apply our existing AI decision-making technology and the autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) in the application of marine life survey, which is useful for fisheries, especially for monitoring and analysis of marine life growth and health. Our partner organisation Cyborg has mature AUV systems, and the AI decisionmaking technique has been implemented and demonstrated in lab simulated environments, thus the current TRL of this work is 4. Through this project we will further mature the AI and its integration with Cyborg's AUV control system to provide a robust and reliable AI software package that is dedicated for marine life survey tasks.
