Smart Environmental Monitoring and Analysis Technologies (SEMAT) (2008-2012)

Abstract

Widespread, real-time monitoring of the marine environment is essential for truly sustainable economic benefit. This project investigates new architectures for building marine sensor networks, new ways to collect data, new ways to communicate date and new ways to present data. The project brings together the technology development and scientific analysis skills from across the faculties within UQ and the Politecnico di Milano to develop and deploy a proof-of-concept next generation marine sensor network, and then to develop a prototype producti, ready for commercialisation.
