Dr. Annalee ("Annie") Ring (she/her/they/them) is a Philosophy and Gender Studies Lecturer at the University of Queensland, Australia. Her research and teaching interests are in Feminist Philosophy, Continental Philosophy, Critical Philosophy of Race, Environmental Philosophy, and Social and Political Philosophy.

She is currently completing a monograph, A Critical Sociogenic Semiology, that explores how language as a context-depended social product operates in white supremacist “forms of life.” While inspired by Wittgenstein’s formulation of language games, forms of life, and family resemblances, the manuscript is a political and intersectional feminist philosophy of language that focuses on how language reflects and reinforces white supremacist, patriarchal, and heteronormative value systems. She develops the methodology for the book, sociogenic semiology, through engagement with continental feminist philosophies, critical philosophy of race, decolonial philosophy, feminist Marxism, and critical phenomenology.

Her work has been published in Simone de Beauvoir Studies, Settler Colonial Studies, Histoire Épistemologie Langage, and the CLR James Journal. She has received grants for her work, including the Baird Society Resident Scholar Fellowship, which funded three months of archival research at the Smithsonian Museum of American History's Special Collections.

She received her PhD in Philosophy from the University of Oregon (UO) in 2024 and was an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) from 2024-2026.
