Research impacts

The research of A/Prof Nghiem also creates significant social and policy impacts. His most noticeable research is the development of the Classification of Hospital-Acquired Diagnosis (CHADx) using ICD-10 codes. CHADx is now integrated into Australia's Hospital-Acquired Complications (HAC) algorithm by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare. His study on the cost-effectiveness of home-based subcutaneous immunoglobulin was heavily consulted by the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) for the potential adoption of this care model in Australia.
