Improving flotation beneficiation of minerals (2024-2025)

Abstract

Flotation is an important process for upgrading low-grade ores to high-grade concentrates. This project aims to solve a long-term problem in current flotation practice, the difficulty in recovering coarse particles and preventing the overly stable froth without loss of metal recovery. We will pursue a new discovery recently made by us, relating to the recovery of coarse particles. The expected outcomes of this project include increased flotation recovery and/or product grade and important knowledge for full-scale design. This should boost production of valuable minerals and education of high-quality graduates, and export income from license fees.
