Development of an Artificial Lung (2026-2029)

Abstract

This project aims to develop a reliable, portable, and biocompatible Artificial Lung designed for out-of-hospital use, addressing a critical need for patients with end-stage lung failure treated at The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH). The device will serve as a bridge to lung transplantation or as a long-term therapy for those ineligible for transplant, significantly improving patient mobility and quality of life.
