Overview

Background

After spending three years as a PhD scholar at the Chonbuk National University, Jeonju, and a visiting researcher for two months at the department of bionanosystem engineering, CBNU, assistant professor for above three years at SVU, Qena, and 13 months a research professor for the Prometeo grant which is one of most prestigious fellowships in Ecuador, one year a research fellow at Griffith University and finally a research fellow at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, I am ready to embark on a new challenge in my academic career. My current destination is a research fellow at the university of Queensland (UQ), School of dentistry.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Philosophy, Chonbuk National University

Research interests

  • Advanced Materials

Synthesis and characterization of novel nanomaterials

  • Biomaterials For Biomedical application

Fabrication advanced biomaterials with specific properties meeting the biological functionality

Research impacts

I am an experienced professional engineer who has had exposure to a range of areas including medical, materials and mechanical engineering, project and scientific study design and management, biology, polymer chemistry, naocomposites, and nanotechnologies. I believe in continually developing myself both personally and professionally, to deliver positive outcomes in my workplace.

As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The University of Queensland, where my work is focused on the development of a quality system for implant manufacture, clinical translation of biodegradable scaffolds for bone regeneration, and the improvement of bioactivity and providing a functionality of tissue engineering biomaterial implants.

With a PhD master, and Bachelor's degree in Medical and Materials Engineering and experience in both postdoctoral research and teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students (about one year interruption of my research pathway), I have had a uniquely balanced exposure to the field of Additive Manufacturing and Fabrication Technology. In alignment with my interest in biomedical polymers, materials innovation, and quality management, I aim to facilitate a clearer link between research, teaching and industry, and improve the translation of research to the clinical application using the advanced manufacturing technology.
