Overview
Background
Bruno Moreira is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Crop Science (CCS), QAAFI. His research sits at the intersection of functional biomass, sustainability analytics, and digital systems design, supporting regional and global low‑emissions transitions through bioenergy innovation and resource efficiency. He completed his PhD at UNESP (Brazil), where he led the development of agro‑waste‑derived functional additives for wood‑based and agro‑pellet systems to mitigate off‑gassing during storage, directly addressing safety, quality, and lifecycle performance challenges in renewable solid fuels. He integrates laboratory experimentation with advanced data and process‑based modelling to address variability in biomass resources and deliver traceable, decision‑ready sustainability insights for agriculture and energy systems. His work has direct applications in renewable solid fuels, carbon‑negative materials, and digital tools for sustainability assessment.
