Research impacts
Dr Fleming is the developer of the Self-Awareness of Deficits Interview which is a widely used assessment in brain injury rehabilitation and research around the world. Her work on the transition from hospital to home after brain injury helped inform the development of the Acquired Brain Injury Transitional Rehabilitation Service established in Queensland in 2016. She was a member of the research team evaluating the impact of this new service which was subsequently permanently funded in 2022.
