José’s research in surgical education focuses on developing low-cost simulation models and technology-enhanced training tools that make skill acquisition more effective, inclusive, and accessible. José’s research in comparative oncology examines tumour biology and therapeutic innovation in small animals, with a focus on immunotherapy, biomarker discovery, and drug repurposing. His goal is to advance evidence-based treatments that improve patient outcomes and build stronger translational links between veterinary and human oncology.
