    Pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of chronic lung diseases, including COPD, asthma, lung cancer, mesothelioma and effects of air pollution

Research impacts

His clinical work is in the field of thoracic medicine, and his research team is studying gene-environmental interaction in COPD, asthma, lung cancer and air pollution. He is involved in the training of higher degree students in translational research into lung diseases.

He is a Chair of the National COPD Guidelines Committee of the Lung Foundation Australia, and a member of the COPD Coordinating Committee. He is Chair of the Medical Programs and Research Advisory Committee of the Asthma Foundation Queensland NSW.
