Research impacts

Founder & Co-Lead of Queensland Paediatric Infectious Diseases Laboratory & Associate Professor, University of Queensland Australia: 2003-2014

Research laboratory dedicated to viral discovery, translational adaption of molecular techniques for the diagnosis of infectious and rapid molecular diagnosis of respiratory viruses. Co-discoverer of WU virus. Lead approximately 40 Phase I-IV vaccine trials in attached clinical trials unit including meningococcal and staphylococcal candidates. Established experience in the maintenance and utility of large microbiology (virus and bacteria) and serum biobanks that lead to significant viral discoveries and clinical translation.

Co-discoverer of WU Virus: 2007
